My self-imposed exile will come to an end today, as we have dinner plans at Giada Restaurant by celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis inside the Cromwell Hotel, which just happens to have craps tables with the largest payouts in Vegas. Solid plan.
Read MoreOur brief but enjoyable stay in Denver is over and we land in Las Vegas by 10:00am. It is fascinating to see how the terrain changes from snow-capped mountains to desert hills as we travel along. Pretty sure our hotel room will not be available so we try to think of things to do and all I can come up with is breakfast.
Read MoreWe've got an impromtu trip to New York City and I am always down for that, so we leave tomorrow. Bob has meetings and I do not. The weather is looking sketchy, and I really want to go to Brooklyn, but I am keeping my options open. No shortage of things to do in New York. We take the train out of Boston, which skirts the ocean through Rhode Island and Connecticut, so I just stare out the window and daydream for a few hours while Bob answers e-mails, calls people, etc. He's a busy guy.
Read MoreIt has been a while since we've spent quality time with our Seattle friends and one brilliant person decided we should all rent a house in Turks and Caicos. T & C has long been on my travel list, so the decision was an easy one. We settled on a date, and then selected a 5 bedroom property on the ocean, all with en suite bathrooms. No bathroom sharing is key if you all wanna get along! It is a party of nine and I mean it.
Read MoreBy 6:30am the sun is barely out, but there are a decent amount of people in wet-suits, bobbing in the waves to get their surf on before work or wherever they are headed next. The walking trail from the hotel winds down to beach level. It is paved and the hillside is covered in flowers. A small surfshop and restaurant sits in front of a green and grassy park, surrounded by beautiful homes. These people know how to live, judge for yourself.
Read MoreIt is Wednesday morning and 12" of fresh snow fell last night. The snow is good. Our plan is to get to the lifts for first runs, but Bob's business calls go a little over. We are on mountain by 9:30, though, so things are in good shape. It is overcast and the top is socked in. Let the games begin.
Read MoreBob has a business trip that will take us away from Montana for a few days. It happens to be in Newport Beach, California. OK, I'll go. We fly out of Kalispell, Montana to Salt Lake City, and then to John Wayne International Airport, Orange County and in 20 minutes we are at the Resort at Pelican Hill.
Read MoreOur travels out of Sioux Falls (with a brief pit stop at Wall Drug) lead us to Bozeman, Montana, our last stop until we reach our final destination of Bigfork, MT. The ride is long-ish compared to our previous legs, but around 7:00pm, we pull into our home for the night, the Lark Hotel on Main Street.
Read MoreOur trip from Chicago, IL. to Sioux Falls SD. is unremarkable besides the fact that we are leaving a blizzard behind us. We drive through Wisconsin, cross the Mississippi River and travel through all of Minneapolis on Route 90. There are 10,000 windmills in Minneapolis, by the way, I counted
Read MoreSummers seem to go by in about 5 minutes and it is sooo easy to miss having a leisurely weekend with the ones you love. Especially if your main squeeze really has no idea what relaxing is all about. So I booked us a room at the Inn by the Sea in Cape Elizabeth, Maine for the weekend. Time to show my guy what kicking back looks like.
Read MoreI've arrived back at the hotel from my day of leisure, now it is time to freshen up and begin the evening portion of the program. Bob and I meet Dean and Jens on the Rooftop Terrace at the Penninsula Hotel, which by all accounts was to be closed today due to weather, but still, no rain. We have a beverage and the guys discuss their trip while I look at the view and snap a few pictures from both the terrace and the adjoining restaurant,
Read MoreWe have been to Paris before. This is actually my third trip, though neither of the previous two were very long, nor is this one. Our first visit was five days, our second was two, and this one is even shorter. Between the first two trips we've managed to see a lot. Our first stop, of course, was the Eiffel Tower.
Read MoreIt is Monday morning in Milan. What a great and busy weekend! The guys are working so I can do whatever I want today. In my happy space. Bob leaves for his meetings so I get myself together and head down to the piazza at the hotel which will be my office for the morning. I will do a blog entry and then head out to do some exploring. There is a large da Vinci museum in town but being Monday, most of the museums are closed. So I think I will go to the Milan Cathedral and climb on it and in it.
Read MoreWe wake up in Milan on a sunny Sunday, Bob and Dean’s one day to take in the sights! Except we all sleep in until 10:30. This never happens, travel is getting the best of us! The guys need their rest, though, and we have a good 10 hours in front of us to explore Milan. And there is a plan.
Read MoreToday my beautiful neice Kara and her beautiful toddler baby girl Addison are picking me up at the Whitley Hotel in Buckhead, Georgia and taking me to the Atlanta Botanical Garden, and then to their home in Roswell Georgia, about 30 minutes away from Buckhead.
Read MoreBob has been presented with an opportunity to attend the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, Georgia and he is ecstatic! He'll fly into Atlanta, spend a day in business meetings before the group heads to Augusta. Since I have family in the suburbs of Atlanta, I have decided to tag along and then split off.
Read MoreAfter a lovely breakfast at the Do & Co restaurant in Vienna, then a stroll around the streets, it’s time to pack it in the van and head to the airport. Next destination: Sofia, Bulgaria.
Read MoreToday we travel from Cleveland to Bradford Pa., our first stop, if you remember, when we started this whirlwind trip 23 days ago. Only 156 miles today. A stroll in the park!
