We're traveling again. First stop: Denver, for less than 24 hours. We do a quick overnight on our way to Las Vegas and then Park City. What to do with such limited time? Call up and old friend and make a dinner date. She suggests TAG Restaurant in Larimer Square, a brief walk from our hotel. Gonna do it.
Read MoreIt's Thursday and I find myself in need of a trip to Keene, NH to pick out some blinds for the house. Of course, lunchtime arrives, and my companion and I choose from the many fine options in Keene, NH - Luca's Mediterranean Cafe on Central Square. The owner, Luca Paris, is very familiar to me. Not only has he been in business in Keene since 2000, but he has also competed, and won, on the Food Network's "Guy's Grocery Games", as well as made other cameos on the Network. Yet as I approach the restaurant, here is is, greeting lunch guests, pouring water, handing out menus and reciting lunch specials, as well as working the crowd. I have a good feeling about this already.

So here we are.

It is simple bistro food executed perfectly, time and again, supplemented by an amazing wine menu and cocktail list. Set in Walpole, NH, which epitomizes small town New England, it is an event to come here.

Read MoreTonight, after attending an Open House at Fry Fine Art Gallery (check out a previous post under "lifestyle"), we went to a quick dinner at Pearl Oyster Bar and Restaurant in Peterborough, NH. We have a reservation for 7:30 at the chef's table, which is basically bar seats in front of the kitchen where Nick Duval, the head chef, and his team work hard in front of their screechingly hot sauté pans.
Read MoreYesterday, Rachel Ray happened to be on TV as I folded laundry (I don't watch her on a regular basis) and she made a fried chicken sandwich. It wormed its way into my head and I had to have one!
Read MoreSo I went to Luccas American Kitchen in Leomonster, MA because Miss Normajean wanted me to experience it. She had been there a few times and told them her world-traveler friend Ann had a blog with a zillion followers and she was going to bring me.
