Roadtrip from NH to MT - Day 3

La Crosse, WI turned out to be a fabulous stop, now on to Rapid City, South Dakota! We cross the bridge over the Mississippi River from Wisconsin to Minnesota and start a 10 hour day of driving. A renovated jail which opened in 1851 and operated until 1990 has been metamorphosed into a hip destination with 298 rooms, 2 restaurants (3 in summer) and three bars serving food, all ideal for congregating and socializing. We finally got there.
