Afternoon at Chill Spa in Manchester, NH
Chill Spa in Manchester, NH. Just what the doctor ordered!
My skin is dry and I need some upkeep. Specifically, I need an exfoliating scrub with a moisturizing treatment, a hot oil scalp massage, and then a shampoo and a blow out. My birthday is coming up and I can justify this. I ask my social media people where I should go and my girl Mel recommends Chill Spa. Their menu has exactly what I am looking for, so I make some reservations. I am not disappointed.
It's a grey and rainy day, so why not? I bring my buddy, the beautiful Madelynne, with me and we each choose different treatments in advance. I am getting the Chill Body Glow with the Warm Oil Scalp Treatment add-on. Maddie is getting the Chill Body Melt with a Cold Stone Facial treatment. Both include some time in the steam shower with multiple shower heads. Separately, of course. Afterwards we are gettting a shampoo and conditioner with a blow-out. Game on.
I've never been to Chill Spa, we are here on a blind recommendation, and upon entering, I immediately like it! Unassuming with a glam slam! Downstairs has a make-up station, hair studio, blow-out section, nails and pedi. Upstairs is the Chill Lounge and treatment rooms, plus locker rooms, snack area, etc. There are names for everything in the Chill Lounge and most of them involve the word "Chill" but I've forgotten them. Regardless, it is very cool!

Maddie goes in first and I spend some time taking pictures and chatting up the owner, Christine. She is savvy! First of all, she has trademarked the word "Chill". Smart. Second, she has a lot of Chill-branded products in the spa. I can appreciate that! After a bit, it is time for me to go to the Chill Lounge, and well... chill. So I do.
I get all settled in with my robe and a complimentary beverage and within a few minutes, my therapist, Theresa, is awaiting. The treatment room is simple yet comfortable and relaxing. The body scrub involves pumice particles in an all-natural lotion. She scrubs my arm, then wipes it off with a steaming towel. We progress this way limb by limb and body part by body part until most of my me has been scrubbed and steamed. Then, it is time for the crazy steam shower. I could stay here all day. But I don't. After 5 minutes or so, I return to the treatment room where I get the moisturizing treatment. All done! With both treatments there is a bit of massage going on and I can say I need it. Lots of sore muscles get some attention today. Theresa is very attentive and pays attention to the temp in the room and my comfort level. She is great!
More images from the Chill Lounge. Very relaxing!
Once the body treatment is done I get dressed and head downstairs to deal with my hair and get all glam on the outside! The hair is shampooed, conditioned, blow dried and then curled in a wavy fashion. I buy an eyebrow pencil and some lotioney-stuff and then we are done. What a treat! Totally recommend this place if you are local. They wanted to put make-up on me but I resisted.
